Architecturally, the tapering tower appears to have different reading depending on the view angle. From the east, seen from the South China Sea, its leaning wedged shape tower forms a recognizable landmark within the existing skyline.

The building encompasses three parts, with retail and residential entrances on the lower levels, condominium in the mid-zone with high-end lofts occupying the slender portion of the tapering tower. The design creates highly adaptable floor plans and exclusive residential community with a vibrant urban retreat atmosphere.

On the ground level, the building provides transparencies between the street and the retail environment, drawing visitors into contemporary concept stores, galleries, bookstores and cafes. The architecture creates an urban relationship with the surrounding buildings by reintroducing an authentic sense of community that is highly valued in the city’s traditional urban context. With the monolithic concrete façade above the streetscape frontage, the building transits into quieter zones of residential realm.

The scheme responds to high-end market requirements while simultaneously pioneering high quality residential development to set new standards of natural lighting, ventilation, open views and spatial flexibility. The gently slanted volume allows natural light to reach deep into the street level and neighbouring buildings. The facetted bay windows not only break down the mass of the façade, but also orientate the rooms towards city or sea views and natural light.

To maximize development potentials, the building is accessed via one central core with the structural grid designed to permit versatility in space planning, which aims to accommodate the changing market and provide flexibility for the users. The one-bed condominiums in the mid-zones can easily be transformed into three-bed units. The lofts on the top levels will also encourage new potentials for sustainable live work environments to suit the IT and creative industries.
